The village of Doel is near the river the Scheldt and a nuclear plant.

The guardian
Peter is the last guardian of Doel. The last one trying to keep order in an abandoned village subject to squatting.

Blue chair
In September 2011 we visited the village of Doel. It's a disappearing city near Antwerp in Belgium. 95% of all inhabitants have been forced to abandon the village that is planned to become a new dock for the massive ship transport industry. Only 43 people still resist and live in Doel.
